Only dial 999 in an emergency - hoax or inappropriate calls put lives at risk. That's the message being promoted by South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) in a bid to stop people calling 999 for non-life threatening reasons.

It is hoped that owners of empty homes in the New Forest district will come forward as New Forest District Council pilots a loan scheme to provide accommodation for families in housing need by bringing empty homes back into use.
